As the sun rises for Day two Russia will need to make up for lost time seen in their night assaults of the north. Chernihiv will likely be a goal to cut off and the city of Kharkov, the 2nd largest in Ukraine and a major logistics point will remain a priority. In the south Russia is looking to secure that land route with Crimea however this is threatened by Ukrainian counter attacks last night. For Ukraine the major objectives will be to halt the Russian offensive from Chernobyl to Ivankiv and maintain their defensive positions in the east. With the Contact line holding well and Kharkov seemingly repelling multiple Russian attacks they’ll be confident here. But further north Russian progress can threaten to out flank the city ad cut it from the capital. Meanwhile in the south the will likely seek to exploit their successes of last night and cut off the Russian Crimean advance from their major supply line in Crimea. In the air Ukraine maintains enough dominance to ensure Russia can’t simply para drop freely this was most seen by the expected reinforcements for the VDV assault of Hostomel not arriving. And with the 6 Russian aircraft (fixed wing) already shot down. This war is far from over so don’t expect a sudden surrender. And with combined casualties in the thousands expect them to rise. This will by all accounts be a bloody fight.
